Staff Charity Fundraiser - Learn More About 'Every Life Matters'
From the start of this lockdown ELM have received numerous calls from young people and from concerned parents, worrying about exams and their extended family members. Some of them have been terrified about their own health due to fears of the Covid-19 virus. Young people and their parents are getting frustrated due to having to share the only computer in the whole household, with three or four children expected to hand in work online and attend Zoom lessons.
Young people are feeling isolated and alone due to being stuck in their house. They have been unable to mix with their family members and friends and not being in the school environment means missing their peers and their teachers.
Many people who have contacted ELM recently have developed negative coping mechanisms. Drug and alcohol use has become more prevalent and is going to cause even more problems in the future.
