The ACE Centre

The ACE Centre opened in September 2019 to provide specialist support for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

We aim to provide a warm and nurturing environment which will empower our young people to reach their full potential, by providing a bespoke curriculum designed to meet the pupil’s individual needs.

One of our main goals is to equip our young people with the opportunities and skills to lead independent and successful lives beyond their school life. To do this we provide a combination of traditional and vocational curriculums, alongside life skills lessons to allow our pupils to progress along their individual pathways.

We provided a phased introduction at the start of each academic year, gradually building up to a full school day, along with a more flexible timetable and regular movement/sensory breaks, all of which help the young people to regulate their emotions.

In our recently refurbished facilities we provide ASD specialist furniture along with a wide range of sensory equipment to help support the needs of our young people.

We work closely with parents and many outside agencies, including the Autism Advisory and Intervention Service, to ensure our young people are fully catered for in all aspects of school life and beyond.
