Science Classes get practical!

Science classes across all year groups have been enjoying lots of practical activities in their lessons. In Year 8 pupils, including 8E shown below, have enjoyed lighting Bunsen burners for the first time.

Year 8 pupils, like 8LA1, have also carried out investigations using their new Bunsen burner skills!

And even which metal ion would make the best flare!

In Year 10, 10LR4 brought the lesson outside to investigate the speed of sound in air.

And finally in Year 14, our A Level Life and Health Science class were very grateful to Ms Moore, our school nurse, for her visit to explain to pupils the best way to take a patient’s blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer. This is a requirement for the Medical Physics unit the class are currently studying.
